Landscape of Higher Education
The education sector in India is perhaps the world’s largest and fastest growing. In a study conducted by India Brand Equity foundation, 36.64 million students enrolled in higher education in 2017-18, out of which nearly half a million students went to study abroad.
While planning for a career, there is no structured career counselling that takes into account the skills and mindset of the student. Because of lack of knowledge most Indian students opt for courses as per the social norms, and not because of interest or an innate skill. With a forward-looking plan, the Indian education system, over the next five years or a decade, will be in a position to adopt transformative and innovative approaches to higher education.

In the last 5 years nearly 2.2 Million Indian students went abroad to study and nearly 25% of them were from just two states together. In fact, just 6 states- Andhra Pradesh, Punjab, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka- together account for 56% of all students going abroad.
There are more than 1.1 million students studying in as many as 85 countries. Out of these, most of them are in Canada and the US, followed by the UAE, Australia and UK.
